Design Thinking Workshop - MBA, Belgium Cohort
Objective
The Design Thinking Workshop for the MBA Belgium Cohort at Woxsen University was conceptualized to introduce international management students to the strategic application of design thinking in addressing complex, real-world business challenges. The primary objective was to enable participants to complement their analytical MBA training with a human-centered innovation approach. By understanding the mindset, stages, and tools of design thinking, the workshop aimed to equip students with frameworks that enhance opportunity identification, customer-centric strategy, and iterative problem solving in dynamic global markets.

Execution
The 2-hour intensive session was facilitated by Dr. David Dunne, Prof. Munwar Khan, and Prof. Mrudul Chilmulwar, combining conceptual clarity with experiential learning. The workshop began with an overview of the core principles and stages of the design thinking process, supported by case studies and interactive discussions relevant to business and innovation contexts. Participants were then divided into small teams and guided through structured activities, including user need identification, problem framing, opportunity mapping, ideation, concept evaluation, rapid prototyping, and testing simulations. The session concluded with team presentations and reflective discussions, ensuring that participants not only understood the methodology theoretically but also experienced its practical application within a management and entrepreneurial framework.
